Tejiendo redes
Promotion of youth participation in the municipality of Murcia.
Tejiendo Redes is a project that was born thanks to the subsidy for the Promotion of youth participation in the municipality of Murcia, granted by the Department of Equality, Youth and Development Cooperation of the City Council.
We carried out 5 activities, between May and December 2022. Here is a small summary:
- Volunteering festival. It took place in the urban garden of Santa Eulalia (Murcia). It was an occasion to promote volunteer activities at a local and international level, introduce our group of international volunteers to the local community and vice versa, spend a day of celebration together, with various recreational activities based on the principles of healthy leisure and respect for the environment, sharing the typical dishes of the countries of origin of all the participants.
- La güerta ar mundo. The event took place in an agro-ecological space in Santomera (Murcia). The activity was organized for the volunteers of the European Solidarity Corps: B-Live offered all the young participants some Spanish classes at the youth centers La Nave Espacio Joven and Espacio Joven 585M2. This activity was a pretext to conclude the cycle of lessons and give volunteers the opportunity to put into practice what they learned during the Spanish course and converse with native speakers.
- DynaMu! In this activity, in addition to promoting youth participation in the municipality, we provide information to young people about the programs (European and local) that they could carry out, reinforcing the youth associative fabric and facilitating the implementation of various projects. We visited various high schools of the area to deliver informative material, with details about the activities of the municipal centers.
- Get to know the environment. “Arboretum El Valle” Botanical Garden – Wildlife Recovery Center of the Region of Murcia. The activity consisted of giving a group of young people the opportunity to get to know the nature that surrounds them. The group also performed a forum theater play about environmental awareness: as a result of this excursion, they collected material to be able to include it in the play that they presented to their classmates. The visit to the botanical garden was carried out by the Fundown Foundation, with which young people with fewer opportunities and functional diversity had the opportunity to tell about their work and development through the foundation.
- A day to enjoy in Santomera. A whole day dedicated exclusively to volunteering and healthy leisure activities. The idea was born spontaneously during a meeting of our volunteers: they decided to share the tasks and assume most of the responsibilities to ensure the success of the initiative, obviously with the constant support of B-Live.
