Social Balance

What is Social Balance?

It is a report that shows the extent to which our principles are being met in our activities. It helps us to focus on dimensions that do not usually appear on financial balance sheets, such as equity, participation, sustainability or community impact.

This tool allows us to:

  • Assess our internal and external practices.
  • Improve the coherence between our values and our management.
  • Clearly communicate our commitment to a fairer and more sustainable society.

These are some of the key axes that we assess each year:

Equity and care

  • Balanced participation of women and diversity.
  • Reconciliation of work and personal life.
  • Prevention of violence and promotion of good treatment.

Environmental sustainability

  • Responsible consumption of resources.
  • Waste reduction and management.
  • Collaboration with sustainable and local suppliers.

Democracy and participation

  • Participatory organisational structure.
  • Shared decision-making.
  • Spaces for listening and continuous improvement.

Compromise with the social context

  • Networking with other SSE entities.
  • Positive impact on local communities.
  • Projects aligned with the SDGs and the 2030 Agenda.

We are currently working on our social balance report, which we will soon publish in this space.

It will be an accessible, visual and useful document so that anyone can clearly understand the impact of our work.

Committed to child protection

At B-Live, we work for a fairer and safer world for everyone, and especially for children.

That’s why we have developed and published our Child Protection Policy, which reflects our commitment to the well-being, safety and rights of all the children and young people we work with.

This document sets out clear principles, practical procedures and shared responsibilities that guide all our actions. It is aligned with the Convention on the Rights of the Child and international protection standards.

 

What does the policy include?

  1. Preventive measures such as safe recruitment, ongoing training and standards of conduct.
  2. Clear protocols for reporting and responding to potential incidents.
  3. Commitments to accountability, external evaluation and active child participation.
  4. Specific rules for safety in digital environments.

This policy is mandatory for all B-Live staff, volunteers and partners, and forms an essential part of how we design and deliver our programmes around the world.
